Information
Our BBL™ BroadBand Light device is a treatment option to address pigmentation-related concerns.
BBL™ is a powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) system that treats skin concerns related to general ageing, sun damage and an active lifestyle.
As the BBL™ system delivers light into the skin, it gently heats the upper layers. Once this heat is absorbed by the targeted skin cells, the regeneration process begins. Throughout your treatment, you will be supported by our well-trained staff to encourage long-term outcomes and patient satisfaction.
BBL™ Treatment Capabilities
The BBL™ system is used to treat several common conditions that affect the skin, including:
- Age spots, freckles and pigmentation caused by sun exposure
- Excessive redness, broken veins and capillaries
- Enlarged pores, fine lines and poor skin texture
- Redness associated with conditions such as rosacea
With Australia having such a harsh climate, it’s common for men and women to experience the negative effects that intense weather can have on the skin.
BBL™ Treatment Sessions
BBL™ uses broad-spectrum laser energy to treat different areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms and hands. These are the areas where age spots, broken capillaries, lines and wrinkles most often appear, issues that can all be addressed with BBL™.
BBL™ treatments are quick and don’t require a topical anaesthetic due to the minimal discomfort. Sessions can easily slot into your lunch break and you are free to return to work immediately after the treatment.
You may notice changes in your skin after just one session; however, two to three treatments*, performed at two-to-three-week intervals, are usually recommended.

The treatment is suitable for those who are seeking to target uneven skin tone, large pore size, and spots and discolouration. To further personalised your treatment, we will also provide you with a personalised medical-grade skincare regimen.
In order to obtain further textural improvement, patients should also consider the HALO laser treatment or Dualmode Fractional Laser. The choice of treatment modality is determined depending on the outcomes you seek.
BBL FOTOFACIAL – Q & A:
The most important step is to stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning in the weeks leading up to your session – tanned skin cannot be treated. During your first consultation at Infinity Skin, we will also explain which medications and supplements you should refrain from using.
After each session, mild redness can be expected, almost as if your skin is slightly sunburned. This redness disappears within a few hours and can be covered with mineral makeup if need be. After a few days, you may see changes in your skin’s appearance. It’s important to keep your skin protected by wearing sunscreen on a daily basis in between your sessions.
In some very rare cases, treatment can cause hypopigmentation (skin lightening) or hyperpigmentation (skin darkening). Your skin therapist will take you through all the potential risks and side effects during your consultation.
This is different for everyone and is dependent on particular skin concerns, as well as skin quality. A treatment plan will be discussed during your consultation at Infinity Skin.
Call Infinity Skin Clinic Mosman on 02 9129 2244 or Surry Hills on (02) 8056 8157 to find out more about the treatments we have to offer or to make your appointment.
