Information
Halo™ is the world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL), which delivers non-ablative (1470nm) and ablative (2940nm) wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment zone.
Long-term sun exposure, active lifestyle and the wear and tear of everyday living result in visible signs of skin aging, including wrinkles, discolouration, scars and laxity. A fractional HALO laser skin treatment, whether ablative or coagulative, allows the epidermis to heal quickly as long as the dermis remains intact. Ablative fractional resurfacing is a well-established treatment that treats aged tissue with less thermal injury, with mild to moderate levels of morbidity and downtime.
Conversely, non-ablative fractional resurfacing causes thermal injury and tissue coagulation with lower levels of morbidity. The HALO hybrid fractional laser combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths delivered to the same microscopic treatment zone to help achieve patient satisfaction. Infinity Skin Clinic were the first in Sydney to offer Halo™ laser skin treatment, therefore giving us the most experience when treating patients with the Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser.
Reasons for Halo laser skin treatment:
- Both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths
- Patients may see desired results in one to two treatments
- Typically more comfortable than traditional fractional resurfacing
- Faster healing time than other resurfacing treatments

HALO LASER – Q & A:
Halo is the world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser. HALO delivers non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to the skin, allowing for the treatment of numerous skin conditions.
Anyone that is looking to improve the texture and radiance of their skin. If you suffer from wrinkles, discolouration, pigmentation, sun damage, uneven skin tone, acne scarring, enlarged pores and poor texture, then the halo could be the treatment for you.
Halo treats areas such as face, eyes, neck, chest/décolletage, hands or any areas that there is sun damage or textural concerns.
The halo laser treatment does have some downtime and recovery and your skin does require time to heal. During this time, your skin is vulnerable to the sun, and you should avoid exposure to UVA and UVB rays. Therefore, often the most suitable time of year to have this treatment is winter. This is the time of year we are indoors, and UV exposure is lower. Avoiding sun exposure will aid in achieving the desired results.
You and your skin therapist can choose how many treatments you want to do. You can have two deeper treatments or have multiple treatments that are less aggressive and achieve a similar goal over a longer period of time.
The halo treatment works to counter the signs of aging by damaging and removing the old damaged superficial epidermal cells of the skin. The dual laser technology penetrates deep into the skin using heat energy. This targets skin concerns non-invasively. Book your consultation to learn more about how the treatment works and may benefit your skin.

Yes, your skin does require preparation before treatment. It is advised to have a consultation with our skin clinicians to ensure that you are using the correct cosmeceutical skin care products that are mandatory for the halo treatment.
You also must avoid active skin care products such as vitamin A, BHA and AHAs one week prior to the halo treatment.
Avoid sun exposure for two to four weeks prior to laser, including fake tan. Please advise your skin clinician if you have an upcoming holiday. Wear sunscreen daily with vigilant application every two hours.
Please prep your skin with the prescribe skincare for you, avoid hot baths, saunas and exercise before the treatment. If you suffer from cold sores, please take the recommended medication to prevent a viral breakout. Take an anti-viral (for cold sores) medication the day before treatment and the day of treatment. Most importantly avoid the sun.
You will feel minimal discomfort during the treatment. We adjust our treatments to help patients have a comfortable and positive experience.
For the first 24 hours you will be instructed by your skin clinician of what products to use to protect and support your skin healing. Avoid the sun, exercise, hot showers and baths. Don not touch your face. Mineral make up can be applied the next day.
Yes, you do need to take time off work. Downtime is typically five to seven days. You experience heat, swelling and redness immediately post-treatment, which generally lasts for the first two days.
Three to five days post-treatment, your skin can feel tight, with a slight bronzed appearance, and dry skin may flake off. Four to five days post-treatment it is recommended to come into the clinic for your post-treatment omnilux. The omnilux treatment can help speed up the recovery time of the halo.
You need to continue to use the products that were first prescribed to you in the initial consultation, especially sunscreen. Avoid sun exposure and other invasive skin treatments. Four weeks after treatment, you may choose to have another halo treatment.
Your halo results can last for years to come as long as you continue to keep your skin healthy and protected against UV.
