Information

The Sciton NanoLaserPeel (NLP) or MicroLaserPeel (MLP) procedure uses a 2940 nm Erbium YAG laser. The NLP and MLP are superficial peels that address the texture and tone of photo-aged or damaged skin. The 2940 nm Erbium YAG laser wavelength of NLP and MLP is delivered through a scanning device that precisely removes layers of tissue in the targeted areas.

If you seek results beyond what treatments such as microdermabrasion or light skin peels offer and desire a shorter recovery period, then you may benefit from traditional skin resurfacing procedures, such as MicroLaserPeel. The treatment is suited to those with skin concerns associated with aging and active lifestyles. You may consider this treatment if you have wrinkles, fine lines, scars, keratoses, pores, texture, tired and dull skin as well as pigmentation irregularities.

Sciton MicroLaserPeel (MLP) & NanoLaserPeel (NLP) – Q & A:

The treatment may suit those concerned about conditions associated with ageing, including: lines and wrinkles, pores, scarring, texture, pigmentation and overall skin health.

Most skin areas can be treated. Popular treatment areas are the face, neck, chest and hands.

One treatment may be sufficient. However, the number of treatments needed may vary from one to five. Mostly people would require two to three.

Yes, we can recommend which treatments may be compatible with this procedure.

Your skin will be cleansed and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes.

The treatment is normally comfortable and can be customised to suit the patient.

Immediately after the treatment, you may notice that the skin has a “frosty” appearance. This is the dehydrated skin that should start to peel away within the next few days following the treatment. You may experience some skin redness and a sensation resembling sunburn, as well as mild swelling.

Depending on the depth of treatment, most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work within three to four days. Full healing is approximately five to seven days.

We will recommend skin care products and instructions on how to use them tailored to your skin. Your skin will be sensitive to sunlight after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always use some sunscreen to avoid sun damage, hyperpigmentation and premature aging of your skin.

Because only the outer layer of skin is treated, changes in tone, texture and clarity may only be noticed once the skin heals in approximately three to four days. Deeper settings may take seven days to heal. Results vary and should be discussed with your practitioner at your consultation.
