Ultrasound treatment is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment that incorporates high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) energy. This is a gentle method of addressing wrinkles and skin laxity without the need for a recovery period.

How Ultrasound HIFU Treatment Works
The skin consists of three essential layers. The first is the superficial dermis, followed by the deeper dermis and the SMAS layer. The SMAS layer connects your skin to the deeper structures such as the muscle.
As we age, the structures that keep the skin strong and youthful start to weaken. This is mostly because collagen and elastin levels start to lessen, which affects the underlying structures. Ultrasound treatment can cater to a diverse range of skin profiles, and patients can expect a tolerable experience from their session. Patients report minimal pain and discomfort. Keep in mind that the experience will be different for everyone, though.
Mild redness and swelling across the treatment areas is common but shouldn’t last longer than a day or two. Temporary bruising and numbness are also possible but not as common.
